Neptune and Earth - class of 2015/2016
We have settled well into our new year 5 classes. Our new topic is 'The Victorians' and this week we researched, drew pictures and wrote about Victorian children and the jobs that some of them had to do.
Life was very hard for these children, they were very poor, hungry and often very young.
We researched jobs that Victorian children did on the internet. Here are some of the comments that children from classes Neptune and Earth made -
I can't believe they had to do jobs at such a young age, even when they were weak and feeble.
Drew - class Neptune
I think that the jobs they did were unreasonable for children.
Lanre - class Earth
If they fell asleep on the job they could lose a limb and some children even lost their lives.
Reuben - class Earth
It's terrible that children aged 5 and 6 had to go to work.
Mya - class Neptune
If you want to find out more .........
